Concept

The concept of this installation can be related to a haunted house theme. But the difference is we will not use a man dressed up like a ghost chasing around the user. Instead we will use different kind of approach using media to invoke the fear emotion. The user will navigate through a path inside the FCM building while experiencing the emotion of fear.

Installations such as sound effects which will be delivered through a set of speakers, light effects using light bulbs that will flicker and videos from projectors will be placed along the path. Each time a person pass through the motion sensor camera, an output will be produced to scare the user. We will put several motion sensor along the path to make the installation triggers only where the user stands.

Our options of locations is a place where it is dark because a dark place usually creates more fear than a bright place. Secondly, we will choose a dark location because we want to play with the lights and the projectors in the installation. Another than a dark place, we also need a place where the sound effects can be heard and it will bounce back in the wall to create echoes.

Things that we might consider is to put a live view video of the installations where other people can see what is going on inside there. Also we tend to create a situation where it has two outputs. It depends on the user on deciding to choose which one. Each options that the user choose will give different outputs.
